Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- Preferably a high school graduate with technical schooling. Must complete all required Department of Transportation Federal/State and OSHA Federal/State courses and programs as a condition of continued employment.
- At least one year progressive and successful experience in the job duties described.
- Basic knowledge of pertinent codes, regulations, standards, and safety rules such as NFPA Pamphlet No. 58 and local plumbing code, in addition to standard practices and procedures.
- Must have a good working knowledge of tools and equipment of the trade.
- Requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude and a good safety record.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- Must possess a valid Class B, CDL license, with Hazardous Material endorsement, current Crane Operator's certificate, and valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per 49CFR 391.41 through 391.49.
- Qualified to operate boom truck and forklift.
Working Conditions/Environment/Physical Demands:
- Primarily outdoor work.
- Exposure to gas fumes varies from low to an occasional high concentration which requires the incumbent to use gas mask.
- May be required to work after hours occasionally on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; subject to emergency calls and on-call assignments.
- No back or serious eye limitation, including color blindness or restriction on respirator use.
- Work occasionally involves a heavy degree of physical effort.
