Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- Preferably a high school graduate with technical schooling.
- Completed all required Department of Transportation Federal/State and OSHA Federal/State and NFPA courses and programs.
- Must maintain at least minimum passing scores per regulations, for all recurring Federal/State courses or programs.
- At least four years successful and progressive experience in work with LPG of which two years must have been as a Cylinder Delivery Driver. These experience requirements may be reduced at management’s discretion with approval of the V.P. Human Resources based on need and for the individual who demonstrates exceptional ability and skills to perform the duties of Tank Truck Driver.
- Proven ability to operate tank truck efficiently and safely.
- Must be a safe and competent driver, cognizant of all traffic laws and have a clean traffic abstract; must not have an unsatisfactory work history of accidents as determined by management.
- Possesses a very good working knowledge of departmental operating rules and procedures, pertinent codes (such as NFPA #58 and #59); regulations, standards and safety rule/regulations/practices in addition to standard practices and procedures for this trade.
- Qualified in all phases of the work described.
- Very proficient in the proper use of the tools, materials, and equipment of the trade and have a good safety record; ability to use computers.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- Must possess a valid Class B, CDL license with Hazardous Material endorsement with no restrictions on air brakes or transmission type, and valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate per 49 CFR 391.41 through 391.49.
- Must be qualified for and retain required security certifications such as TWIC and AOA, or other clearances required by governmental agencies.
