  • Overview

    JOB SUMMARY   Scope of work focuses on the analysis of both utility and non-utility sales data.  Compiles, analyzes and maintains a variety of sales and operational data, including the review of sales volumes vs. price increases, and provides assistance on all volume-related reports and forecasting.  Manages LPG contracts data, and participates in developing sales strategies, programs, contract terms and offerings.  Prepares various sales and volume reports for sales team, senior management and parent company.


    1. Collects and analyzes data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand.  Prepares reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text for Director of Sales, senior management and General Managers’ use. 
    2. Identifies, reports and makes recommendation on how to remedy sales related data irregularities.  Once recommendation is approved, leads the effort to repair data irregularities.
    3. Tracks and reports contract renewal schedule to Sales Director, senior management and GMs.
    4. Reviews sales volumes for the purposes of analyzing price structure in volume segments for breaking point in pricing. 
    5. Performs rate modelling which includes evaluation of current and possible new rates to be sure each rate appropriately contributes to company’s success, while taking into consideration the cost to serve and all competitive forces.  For non-utility market, cost to serve should consider landed cost of gas by port, overhead, volume, distance to deliver and margin.
    6. Collects sales records and trends and evaluates performance measured against sales goals, statewide and by Business Units; interprets results of overall sales, recommends changes to current sales techniques, procedures or promotional efforts based on market research and new trends.
    7. Prepares Company sales forecasts and collects and analyzes volume and delivery data to evaluate current sales goals.  Develops models and reporting structure that identify costs (by business unit, process, fixed, variable, etc.); guides sales personnel in entering accurate forecasts into model, and generates reports. 
    8. Identifies, prepares, analyzes, and maintains statewide competitive market data and develops trends, forecasts, and recommendations for pricing.
    9. Analyzes and maintains statewide sales results. 
    10. Assists in the development of sales forecasting and KPI’s for the Business Units. 
    11. Develops, coordinates and maintains statewide contract administration system including monthly reports on contract status.  Develops implements and maintains a centralized contract management database.
    12. Reviews and recommends statewide customer pricing status to ensure consistency between customer classification and actual consumption.  Maintains pricing data and provides input for the pricing of products and services sold by the Company.
    13. Performs as the Company contact person for CRM, CIS sales data and contract issues.  Consults with the appropriate V.P. on complex issues or sensitive matters.
    14. Participates in business, community and trade activities to network and obtain intelligence of the local market.
    15. Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition; performs housekeeping duties as required. Complies with all safety rules and cooperates in the fullest in the promotion of safety and safe work habits, to include the reporting of any unsafe conditions or acts.  Maintains all EH & S training on a current basis.
    16. Performs all other assigned duties.

    Minimum Education & Work Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Economics or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
    • Three years of related experience.
    • Working knowledge of operational assets and general business philosophies and practices
    • Good working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and County regulations and Company policies and procedures impacting this activity. 
    • Proficient with Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, Access, CIS, CRM and Power Point).  Working knowledge of data from CRM & CIS to create data reporting along with data integrity.


    Preferred Education & Work Experience:

    • Five years of sales and/or marketing analysis experience.


    Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

    • Valid Hawaii driver’s license. Access to insured vehicle with current registration.

    • Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, on the phone &/or in person.
    • Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Training, giving and receiving instructions.
    • Mathematical ability, attention to detail (e.g., organization, prioritization, proofing), concentration and alertness.


    Working Conditions/Environment:

    • Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
